In this role, he oversees the investment process, leads the day-to-day activities for the firm, and assumes responsibility for all of the firm’s business decisions. 

Prior to his role as Head of PGIM Fixed Income in January, 2016 and his CIO responsibilities in 2008, Mr. Lillard was Senior Investment Officer for Insurance Portfolios, Liability-Driven Investment Strategies, and Hedge Strategies at PGIM Fixed Income, and was Head of the Quantitative Research and Risk Management Group. Earlier, he was head of PGIM Fixed Income’s US Liquidity Team, the group responsible for managing US government and mortgage-backed securities, and was also the portfolio manager for Core Fixed Income Strategies. Mr. Lillard began his career with the Firm in 1987 in the Portfolio Management Group. Mr. Lillard serves as a member of the United States Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee (TBAC).

Mr. Lillard received a BS and MS in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MS in Management from the Sloan School at MIT. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
