Centraal Beheer Algemeen Pensioenfonds (Centraal Beheer APF) is joining the Achmea Dutch Health Care Property Fund, the healthcare real estate fund managed by Achmea Real Estate. With the addition of Centraal Beheer APF, the number of participants in the Achmea Dutch Health Care Property Fund will increase to more than 20. The fund focuses on investments in high-quality healthcare real estate, including life-course-proof homes, intramural care facilities and care centres, where social impact and financial returns go hand in hand. Last year, the healthcare real estate fund was ranked the most sustainable healthcare real estate fund worldwide by the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), an international benchmark that assesses the sustainability of real estate and real estate funds. The fund also outperformed the MSCI healthcare benchmark (11.0%) with a return of 11.7%.

The fund’s social impact was an important factor in Centraal Beheer APF’s decision. Both Achmea Real Estate and the impact team of Achmea Investment Management were involved in this process. Centraal Beheer APF is a general pension fund with invested assets of approximately € 7.8 billion. Its participation underlines confidence in Achmea Real Estate’s healthcare real estate strategy and in the role the Achmea Dutch Health Care Property Fund can play within a robust long-term investment portfolio.
