Specifically, he is the Lead Portfolio Manager for the closed-end opportunistic fund series, Invesco Strategic Opportunities, as well as a member of the firm’s North American and Asia-Pacific Credit Investment Committees, North American Executive Committee, Platform Investments Committee and Global Executive Committee.

Bert began his investment career in 2002 and joined Invesco Real Estate in 2010 to lead the formation and growth of its Structured Investments platform. Prior to joining Invesco, he served as the director of acquisitions for Presidio Investments, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hunt Realty Investments, where he was responsible for leading the execution of Presidio’s investment strategy focused on the acquisition of secondary commercial mortgages and investments in public real estate securities. Before joining Presidio, he worked in the New York office of Wells Fargo’s Real Estate Merchant Banking group, where he originated and acquired highly structured commercial mortgage products.

Bert earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance, with honors, from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. He also completed Wells Fargo’s Credit Management Training Program in San Francisco.
