Sosteneo is a specialist investment manager focused on construction-ready infrastructure projects that address the system challenges of clean energy delivery. We invest at the value inflection point – post-development risk, pre-brownfield compression – to deliver new infrastructure that meets flexibility, supply, and end-use needs for the energy transition.
Projects in which we invest will have secured long term contracted revenues or offer a strong pathway to long term contracted revenues with the aim of delivering value enhancements through the asset lifecycle, particularly in the areas of origination, construction, operations, financing, cash flow, and exit.
The Firm Leadership have been active in the energy industry since 1992. This multi-cycle experience, combined with deep technical and industrial expertise, provides access to differentiated opportunities and underpins disciplined execution.
Vision and beliefs
Sosteneo aims to be a leader in clean energy infrastructure investing by:
- Addressing the structural challenges inherent in the delivery of reliable, scalable clean energy
- Providing genuine additionality through investment in new, construction-ready infrastructure assets
- Deploying lead capital in meaningful projects, alongside selective partnerships with industrials
- Focusing on resilient, regulated European markets with a deep and durable opportunity set
The Firm’s long-term objective is to capture attractive commercial opportunities arising from the energy transition, while delivering consistent, stable returns for investors.
Investment process and research
Sosteneo follows a structured four‑phase investment process.
Sourcing and Screening
Opportunities are initially assessed by the Investment Team. Screening focuses on strategic fit, development stage, value‑creation potential, risk profile, and counterparty quality. Each opportunity is reviewed by the team with a central deal‑flow database supporting pipeline management which is reviewed fortnightly to prioritise opportunities and allocate resources.
Initial Due Diligence
If an opportunity progresses, the Investment Team – supported by Asset Management, Legal and Finance – conducts high‑level due diligence covering technical, commercial, legal, regulatory and ESG aspects, alongside early financial modelling and risk mapping. Findings are captured in an Investment Concept Paper, reviewed by the Investment Committee to decide on full due diligence and non‑binding offers.
Detailed Due Diligence
Approved opportunities undergo comprehensive due diligence, including full financial modelling, legal structuring, commercial review and third‑party assessments. Results feed into an Investment Document outlining project structure, key commercial aspects and risks.
Execution and Asset Management
Following approval, the Investment Team leads execution and remains involved through construction, operations and exit, while Asset Management handles day‑to‑day oversight and value creation.
