Cathy Marcus is global chief operating officer and head of the U.S. equity at PGIM Real Estate.
Based in Madison, New Jersey, she is responsible for overseeing PGIM Real Estate’s business and investment operations globally, and for the development and implementation of PGIM Real Estate’s equity strategy and operations in the United States, including oversight of U.S. portfolio and asset management. Cathy is a member of the Global Management Council, the Global and U.S. Investment Committees, the Global Operating Council, the Global Product Committee and the Valuation Committee.
Previously, Cathy was senior portfolio manager for PGIM Real Estate’s flagship core equity real estate fund, with responsibility for all aspects of managing the fund, including portfolio strategy, investment decisions and management of the team. Cathy served for more than eight years as a portfolio manager of the fund before becoming senior portfolio manager in 2012.
Prior to her involvement with PGIM Real Estate’s flagship core equity real estate fund, Cathy served as head of investment underwriting and operations for PGIM Real Estate’s Transactions group, and earlier was a vice president for Prudential Corporate Real Estate Advisors, where she directed the strategic planning, development activities and transactional activities for over $800 million of corporate real estate on behalf of clients.
Before joining Prudential, Cathy was a second vice president with MBL Life Assurance Corporation where she was involved in real estate portfolio management, commercial loan securitization, commercial mortgage loan restructuring, portfolio dispositions and special projects, including the sale of the Agricultural Lending Division and a luxury resort development.
Cathy has a bachelor's degree in real estate finance and entrepreneurial management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a master of science in real estate investment and development from New York University. She serves on the board of directors of Skanska AB, the board of directors of PREA and the Schack Institute of Real Estate’s advisory board. She is also a member of ULI’s Industrial and Office Park Development Council (IOPC).
