Prior to his current role, James was Head of Housing, Americas and head of the CASA Funds, and previously was head of North America Property for Henderson Global Investors, where he worked for 21 years before leading the business’ transition to Nuveen Real Estate. He entered the industry in 1984.

James graduated with a B.S. in Management from Central Connecticut State University. He holds the Institute of Real Estate Management’s CPM designation and is a two-time past president of the Connecticut Chapter. He also holds the CCIM designation from the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute and is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC). James also holds the FINRA Series 7 registration.
